which was first released in 1943 as part
of a 78 album containing four 78 records.
This album was also subsequently released
as a 33 and 1/3 LP circa 1950. The album
was entitled Chicago Jazz Classics. The
1943
78 re-release on Brunswick was 80029A,
side
5 of eight 78 sides. The 78 album on Brunswick
was B-1007. The Matrix # was E-27639. The
recording was first released in 1928 as
a
78 single as by "Bennie Goodman's
Boys".
The instrumental was composed by Glenn
Miller
and Benny Goodman. Glenn Miller was part
of the band at that time. The title comes
from the apartment number of the room that
Miller and Goodman shared in New York at
The Whitby. The 1943 78 album release was
reviewed in Billboard magazine. Two takes
of "Room 1411" were released.
